Teaching Style
As I've developed my musical skills, teaching has become one of my most fulfilling experiences. I began giving weekly lessons in Brown County, Indiana, during my undergrad, and I haven't looked back since! Now, I teach in New York City, both privately and through community outreach programs at the Manhattan School of Music and the Harmony Program. My goal is to guide students through their musical education in a relaxed manner while providing a strong foundation to express themselves and learn musical concepts.
I offer music theory and history instruction for all levels, ensuring each student is respected and understood. I strive to help them grow as musicians and foster a love for performing while pursuing their individual goals.
LESSON+COFFEE PACKAGE:
Add only $5 to any lesson cost, and I will bring you a 4 oz bag of freshly roasted coffee beans from Keiser Broadway Beans!
Studio Policies & Procedures
I strive to create a comfortable and nurturing learning environment, so I have established a few policies to ensure clarity:
-An initial complimentary 30-minute interview is encouraged to help us get to know each other and set goals for our lessons. -Weekly 45 and 60 minute sessions are highly encouraged.-A dedicated weekly lesson time is essential, though I remain flexible with schedule changes as long as they are communicated in advance.-Automated payment plans are available and preferred. -I strive to make lessons as affordable as I can. Prices are mostly calcualated based off of length of the lesson and how far I'll need to travel if applicable. Prices also reflect my time spent dedicated to refining my playing and teaching, and the current cost of living. -I teach in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, in your home, or other locations in NYC. If you have a different venue in mind, please let me know, and I’ll gladly accommodate.-I also offer lessons on Forte, providing high-quality online instruction; pricing may vary, so please reach out to discuss your needs.-Online lessons via Zoom are available at the same rate as in-person sessions.-Punctuality is important. I put great effort into being on time and appreciate the same from my students. If a student is over 15 minutes late or not home within that time, the lesson will be canceled at half the cost. That being said, I am extremely understanding of emergencies and last-minute changes if they are relevent and sensible.
